Dongshan Liangjie (Tozan Ryokai) was the Chinese ancestor who founded our Soto school, and the creator of the Jewel Mirror Samadhi poem. In this class we will read Taigen Leighton’s book Just This is It as a guide to Dongshan’s teachings about suchness, the ultimate and true nature inherent in all appearance. Together we’ll explore this suchness as our own lives and how these teachings illuminate our lives. And our lives illuminate these teachings.
