A Zen Perspective on Civic Engagement

The Path

A Zen Perspective on Civic Engagement:
How the Current Political Climate Can Be Our Best Opportunity to Wake Up and End Suffering

Taught by Rebecca McIlwain

In this class we will learn how to bring compassion and equanimity to our role as citizens. Through guided imagery, exercises, and facilitated discussions, we will employ tools that enable us to deepen our practice, relieve the pressure we may feel in a fraught political environment, and heal divisions that can plague our families, neighborhoods, and country.

Maximum number of participants is 18. Please donate what you can.

The class is open to those who attended the Civic Engagement workshop in March as well as new participants.

  • About the workshop:

  • Please arrive on time and plan to stay for the duration of each class.

  • Please have your phone silenced and let family and friends know you will not be available for calls or texts during the class.

  • Please bring a journal and something to write with.
