Tuesdays, March 25 - April 22, 6:30-8:30 pm. Taught by Hōdō Zack Becker
In this class we will explore karma, the teachings that underlie our effort to better understand our lives. This is a fundamental focus of exploration of Zen.
In the Zen Center, every day we avow our “ancient, twisted karma” but what is this karma? Where did it come from and where is it leading us? Studying how our mind drives karma, we can practice clarifying our intentions to bolster our Zen Buddhist practice.
We will read Awakening from the Daydream by David Nichtern, with supplemental readings provided.
Each class begins with a period of meditation followed by a presentation and discussion.
Hōdō Zack Becker, a long-time practitioner of Zen, is a senior member of HZC and the President of the Board of Directors. He is a police captain and writer.
