A Series of 6 Tuesday classes February 4 - March 18. 6:30-8:30 pm. Taught by Musō Constance Braden. No class February 18.

In this class we’ll study Daughters of Emptiness, a collection of poems written by Chinese Buddhist nuns over 16 centuries, compiled and translated by Beata Grant. These poems, I think you will agree, are personal, intimate, quite lively and insightful, expressing great joy in meditation and Buddhist understanding. The book is available in print and online. Students will be encouraged to write and share their own poems or, as an alternative, to memorize a poem from the book. Everyone is welcome.

Constance, whose dharma name is Dream Window, has been a poet for almost 25 years.

Zoom participation will also be available. The link will be provided before the class begins.

Musō Constance Braden is a long-time lay ordained member of Houston Zen Center. She received the Bodhisattva Precepts and the dharma name: Musō Zōden, Dream Window, Elephant Field. She is a yoga teacher.
