Zen Priest Yazan Dave Johnson

Zen Priest Yazan (Wild Mountains) Dave Johnson, passed away on May 13, 2022 after a long illness. He was present, alert, and intensely practicing until quite close to the time of crossing over.

The funeral will formally mark the passage of this founding member of Houston Zen Center. Yazan was one of the most generous and creative of our founding members. He is much missed.

Tenshin Reb Anderson Roshi will be the leading officiant, joined by Abbot Gaelyn Godwin and Zen Priest Seirin Tim Schorre.

The entire sangha will have a role in the ceremony.
