Brandon Lamson, whose dharma name Kenkai means Inkstone Ocean, is a senior member of HZC and a poet. He teaches literature and creative writing in the Honors College at the University of Houston. He is a co-founder of both the Houston Dharma Punx and the Houston Meditation Society. Currently, he teaches meditation classes at the University of Houston, BIG Power Yoga, and Define Living. His book Starship Tahiti won the Juniper Prize in Poetry. He is currently finishing a second collection of poems titled Mountains Walking, and a memoir about prison teaching titled Caged.
