Mindfulness for Children
Mindfulness for Children
This class is for second, third and fourth graders, learning how to be present, how to focus on this moment, and how to take this practice home, to continue practicing on their own.
We will explore:
Mindful listening
Mindful breathing
Mindful seeing
Mindful movement
Mindful eating
Mindfulness of thoughts
Mindfulness of emotions
Heartfulness: cultivating positive states such as kindness, generosity and gratitude
We will also use Thich Nhat Hanh’s “pebble practice”, a tangible way to continue our meditation practice using four pebbles representing different images in nature..
