Friday night 7 pm April 14 - Sunday afternoon April 16. Dharma Teacher Mary Carol Edwards and Sanran Maite Leal lead a 3-day retreat at Auspicious Cloud Retreat Center.
The Dharma of All Beings
In this Zen retreat we will practice grounding ourselves in the here and now, using the teachings of the Buddha and the natural world around us.
Every moment we are presented with the interdependence of ourselves and all beings, “small or great, visible or invisible”. Yet we often think and act with a sense of domination and separation from the other sentient beings that share our world with us. Our very survival as a species depends on recognizing and taking to heart the dharma of all beings.
We will explore Zen writings about the dharma of all sentient (and so-called insentient) beings. We will experience our actual life while meeting fellow beings of the green world. In the serene rustic surroundings of Auspicious Cloud Retreat Center, we will sit and walk with the moon, stars and beings of the night, the rising dawn, the dew, the grasses and wildflowers of the prairie, the shade of the forest and beings of the day.
Experiencing our lives like this, in community with others, gives us access to the deep wisdom of the dharma of all beings. The schedule for each day alternates sitting and walking meditation, including walking outdoors, and mindful meals. All accommodations are shared. Meals and accommodations are included in the price.
Refund policy: full refund up to March 15, 2023. No refund thereafter.
