The ceremony of Tokudo, Attaining the Way, will take place March 11. Senior member Tim Schorre, whose dharma name, Seirin, means Peaceful Forest, will receive ordination from Abbot Gaelyn Godwin.
Everyone is welcome to this auspicious ceremony.
Seirin is a past president of the Board of HZC, and a dedicated Zen practitioner of over 18 years. Receiving ordination as a novice Zen priest involves donning new robes that have been sewn by hand, receiving precepts, and entering fully into a life of service to all beings in the Dharma world. Zen priests serve in many capacities, many occupations, and all are dedicated to helping beings find liberation from misunderstanding and suffering.
