Dear Friends of the Sangha,

Will you become an animal protector today?

Animals can't defend themselves against poaching or consumerism.  That's why they need people like us to help protect them.  Here are a few scary facts put out by the nonprofit organization, WildAid:

  • Every year, fins from up to 73 million sharks are used for shark fin soup.
  • Every year, up to 33,000 elephants are killed for their ivory.  An elephant dies every 15 minutes from poaching
  • Every year, an estimated 100,000 pangolins die for their meat and scales.
  • Only 3.5% of our oceans are officially protected.

For my bat mitzvah project, I am partnering with WildAid to raise funds to help dissuade people from purchasing wildlife products.  WildAid's focus is on both conservation through communication and conservation through protection.   As they so truthfully say, WHEN THE BUYING STOPS, THE KILLING CAN TOO.

This Sunday, I will be setting up a table for donations and will also be selling home made goats milk glycerin natural soaps.  ALL proceeds will go directly to WildAid.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.  Thank you for your compassion and support to raise funds to protect the amazing animals in our world.

With gratitude and a bow,
